November 1, 2012: Self Analysis of Rakesh Pherwani’s Web Content
Several pages have been created by Rakesh Pherwani in order to determine the SEO relevancy of various pages. Today, I will examine google search engine results and report which pages rank highest. Below is a list of only those recently created that are considered “Web 2.0” sites.
Google Page 1 Results
Highest ranking: Quora (Not Web 2.0)
The website http://www.quora.com/Rakesh-Pherwani is the first link to show up in search results. According to the quora.com website, “Quora is a knowledge-sharing club. In exchange for reading people's answers, you need an account so that you can help out if you know the answer to someone else's question.” Be aware that quora is not considered to be a “Web 2.0” site which may explain why this website has no backlinks to Rakesh’s main website as of 11/1/2012.
Second ranking: Twitter (Not Web 2.0)
The website http://twitter.com/RakeshBPherwani is the second link to show up in search results. Be aware that twitter is not considered to be a “Web 2.0” site.
Third ranking: Blogspot (Page Rank 8)
The third website, which is considered Web 2.0, is http://doctor-rakesh-pherwani-spring.blogspot.com/. Also known as blogger.com, this site is a blog posting site.
Google Page 2 Results
Fourth ranking: Scribd (Page Rank 8)
The fourth website and first to appear on the second page of google search results is http://www.scribd.com/rakesh_pherwani . According to the scribd.com, “[Scribd.com is] the world’s largest online library. [It allows one to] read, publish, and share documents and written works.” Note: actually – this is a different Rakesh Pherwani. Therefore, there is some motivation to create Rakesh’s own Scribd account.
Fifth ranking: Wordpress (Page Rank 9)
The fifth website to appear in google search results is http://rakeshpherwani.wordpress.com/2012/10/09/dr-rakesh-b-pherwani-of-spring-tx-opens-wordpress-blog/ . Wordpress is a popular blog and web content creation site.
Sixth ranking: Youtube (Not Web 2.0)
This site is not considered a “Web 2.0” site by the site I am grabbing page rank information from (other sites do list YouTube as a “Web 2.0” site). Nonetheless, http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo_hf5s_lrDyqgYIao9Z8bg shows up next in the google search results. YouTube is a video submission site. From the looks of the link, some settings need to be changed so the channel is human readable.
Google Page 3 Results
Seventh ranking: Tumlbr (Page Rank 8)
Rakesh Pherwani’s Tumblr page http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/rakesh-pherwani shows up next in the search results. According to Tumblr.com’s about page, “Tumblr lets you effortlessly share anything. Post text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos from your browser, phone, desktop, email or wherever you happen to be. “
Summary
Top Google Results (Web 2.0 only)
2. Scribd.com (Not linking – need to create own scribd account)
3. Wordpress.com (http://rakeshpherwani.wordpress.com/2012/10/09/dr-rakesh-b-pherwani-of-spring-tx-opens-wordpress-blog/)
Conclusion
As next step in SEO, it would be advisable to increase the amount of content on “Web 2.0” websites. Within the first 3 google search result pages, only 4 “Web 2.0” sites were returned. Out of these 4, one of the sites was not even Rakesh B Pherwani’s site and belongs to another Rakesh Pherwani. At the very least, a reasonable first step would be to create a Scribd account. Other suggested pages would be: bloglines.com (Page Rank 9), weebly.com (Page Rank 8), typepad.com (PR8), livejournal.com (PR8), squidoo (PR8), tripod.lycos.com (PR8), groups.google.com (PR8), and areavoices.com (PR8).
